illusion8 provides tools to generate procedural illusion videos and automatically publish them as YouTube Shorts on channels you connect. This policy applies to our website, dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and profile image when you sign up or sign in. We store a corresponding user record in our database to operate your account and subscription.
Billing information
If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive and store billing-related identifiers such as your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and the number of paid channel slots on your account. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
YouTube connection data
When you connect a YouTube channel, we collect channel metadata (such as channel name, handle, thumbnail, and subscriber count) and OAuth tokens needed to read channel information and upload videos on your behalf. We store posting preferences you configure, including schedule, captions, and posting frequency.
Generated and uploaded content
We generate illusion videos based on your channel settings and may store records of uploads we perform on your behalf, including video titles, descriptions, YouTube video IDs, and upload timestamps.
Usage and technical data
We automatically collect information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this data to secure the Service, troubleshoot issues, and understand how the product is used.

We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate you and manage your account
- Process subscriptions and billing through Stripe
- Connect to YouTube and publish Shorts according to your settings
- Render videos and run scheduled posting jobs

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these cases:
- Service providers: With vendors that help us operate the Service, including Google (sign-in and YouTube), Stripe (payments), cloud hosting and database providers, and video rendering infrastructure.

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you disconnect a YouTube channel or delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format

The Service integrates with third parties that have their own privacy policies, including:
- Better Auth (self-hosted in this application) for authentication
- Stripe for payments
- Google and YouTube for channel connection and video uploads

9. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use parts of the Service.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
